UNDRR Investment Advisory Board welcomes three new members
UNDRR is pleased to welcome three new members to its Investment Advisory Board (IAB): Surabhi Mathur Visser, Gareth Price, and Kristian Flyvholm.
The new members join the IAB at a time when the Board is sharpening its focus on translating resilience principles into practical investment action. Over the coming year, the IAB will concentrate on advancing the adoption of the Principles for Resilient Investing, supporting their integration into investment mandates and decision-making processes, and strengthening engagement with key actors such as sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, and infrastructure investors.
In parallel, the Board will work to advance a small number of flagship, investment-ready initiatives, strengthen the pipeline of resilience-aligned projects, and improve the availability and use of data to better track resilience-related capital flows and demonstrate the financial case for investing in resilience. These efforts contribute to the IAB’s longer-term ambition of mobilising and influencing significant volumes of private capital in support of resilient infrastructure, systems, and communities by 2030.
Surabhi Mathur Visser brings deep expertise in infrastructure finance, blended finance, and risk mitigation, shaped by more than 17 years of experience across Africa and Asia. Formerly Deputy CEO and Chief Investment Officer of GuarantCo, she has led large-scale investments and guarantees that mobilised over USD 12.5 billion in capital for infrastructure and sustainable development.
Gareth Price contributes extensive experience in the legal, governance, and transactional dimensions of energy and infrastructure investment. As former managing partner of Allen & Overy, he advised governments, developers, and investors on complex project finance structures globally, with a particular focus on long-term asset performance and resilience under varied financing regimes.
Kristian Flyvholm brings over three decades of leadership in sovereign investment, central banking, and institutional governance. As Chair and CEO of Sovereign Investors and former Chief Investment Officer of the Central Bank of the UAE, he has overseen large global portfolios and played a central role in shaping international best practices for sovereign wealth funds and reserve management, including the Santiago Principles.
Together, the new members further strengthen the IAB’s collective expertise across sovereign investment, infrastructure finance, governance, and risk management, reinforcing its role as a collaborative platform to help scale investment in disaster and climate resilience.
